RARE MID-CENTURY MODERN “GRUVWOOD” TABLE LAMP
Likely North American, circa 1965–1975

A striking and increasingly hard-to-find Mid-Century Modern table lamp featuring a vertically fluted walnut-toned column base paired with its original woven wicker-style cylindrical shade.

Strongly influenced by Scandinavian and Danish Modern design, this piece captures the warm atmospheric lighting that defined sophisticated interiors of the late 1960s and 1970s. The original woven shade creates a beautiful architectural glow when illuminated, casting soft filtered light while preserving the lamp’s clean modern lines.

Complete examples retaining their original woven shades are becoming increasingly uncommon, as many surviving lamps were altered or re-shaded over the decades, making this a particularly desirable and authentic example.
