Royal Nippon Era Covered Pancake / Muffin Warmer
Japan, circa 1891-1921
Hand-painted porcelain covered serving dish from the Royal Nippon era, featuring a deep cobalt ground, raised gilt scrollwork, enamel beading, and Dresden-style floral decoration. The domed lid includes steam vent holes designed to release moisture while keeping hot foods warm.
A distinctive and increasingly scarce Nippon-era serving form with strong cabinet and table presence. Decoration and construction are consistent with Royal Nippon period production; the mark is worn or no longer visible.
Very good antique condition with age-appropriate underside wear. No noted chips or cracks.
