Giuseppe Verdi (1813–1901)
Hand-Painted Miniature Portrait
Continental Europe, late 19th–early 20th century

A finely executed hand-painted miniature portrait depicting Giuseppe Verdi, one of Italy’s most celebrated and influential opera composers.

The oval portrait captures Verdi in later life, rendered with careful attention to expression and character. It is mounted in a decorative square faux-ivory frame with simple geometric inlay and convex glass, a format typical of Continental decorative miniatures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The reverse retains its original period paper backing made from printed German text, a common framing material of the era that adds historical character and authenticity.
Please note: the frame shows two stable hairline cracks consistent with age. These do not affect the integrity or display of the piece.
A refined decorative work, well-suited for a study, library, music room, or classical art collection.
Dimensions: Approx. 4½" W × 5" H.
